From longtime local makers to new favorites, we’re sharing the stories behind the booths, so you can get to know your market even better. This week, we’re excited to introduce you to Wholesome Tasty Food Pantry.
At A Glance
We spoke with owner Jessica Steward to learn how a passion for clean, nourishing ingredients — and a lot of experimenting in the kitchen — led to a business focused on thoughtful, handcrafted baked goods and tallow-based products.
What do you sell at the market?
Sourdough baked goods, such as cookies, bread with freshly milled flour, tortillas, bagels, and more, as well as tallow products like skincare and candles.
When and how did your business get started?
My passion for sourdough and tallow came about a few years ago when I began researching the negative health impacts caused by chemicals and preservatives. As I learned and experimented with creating healthy products, I finally decided to form a business in February 2025. We are new, but we are experienced and knowledgeable!
What’s your favorite product you offer and why?
My favorite sourdough product that we offer is “Ancient Bread,” which uses freshly milled flour for added health benefits and flavor! My favorite tallow product is our candles. I have long loved candles but fear the chemicals I am inhaling from artificial scents and other added ingredients. My candles use the purest ingredients, produce no black soot, and have a longer burn time!
What’s something people might not know about your business or products?
I try to find ways to make typically ‘unhealthy’ items healthier by using all-natural ingredients. I substitute refined white sugars with local honey, maple syrup, and coconut sugar. Many of my menu items are from recipes I created myself.
What do you love most about being part of our Farmers Market?
I love the community! I am a newer vendor to the market, and I immediately felt welcomed. At the very first farmers market, other vendors introduced themselves and bought my products to show support. Now I look forward to the market to see my fellow vendor family!
